You are here: Secondary Transition / SEN Transition
Transitioning from primary to secondary school can be a significant step for all students, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our school is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and supportive transition for SEN students. We offer personalised transition plans that include visits to the school, meetings with key staff members, and tailored orientation sessions. These initiatives help students familiarise themselves with the new environment, routines, and expectations.
Our SEN team works closely with primary schools to gather detailed information about each student's needs, strengths, and areas requiring support. This collaboration ensures that we can provide the necessary accommodations and resources from day one. Additionally, we organise workshops for parents and carers to address any concerns and provide guidance on how to support their children during this transition.
By fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, we aim to make the move to secondary school a positive and confidence-building experience for all SEN students.
