As has previously been the case, if the school needs to contact an individual parent or carer urgently then this would be via a phone call to the telephone numbers held on our system. It is therefore important that you keep us up to date with any changes to contact details.

At Barnwell School, we use EduLink One to ensure seamless communication between parents, students, and staff. This platform provides instant access to key school information, including timetables, attendance, behaviour reports, and homework.

Parents can also receive important notifications and messages directly from teachers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress. EduLink One allows you to update contact details, book parents’ evening appointments, and stay engaged with school life.

We encourage all parents to download the app or access it via a web browser to stay connected and support their child’s education effectively.

Payments online

Parents and carers will need to register to be able to make payments on-line for a student’s catering account and make other payments via School Gateway.

The facility on School Gateway will include all payments for trips, authorisation for a student to attend a trip, details of any medical conditions for trips and enable you to make payments for other school items.

It is therefore necessary that all parents register with School Gateway to be able to send payment, authorisation and medical information for trips. Students will still be able to add cash to their lunch account via the cash machines.

To make online payments register with School Gateway

To register you must have supplied us with an email address and a mobile phone number. Once you have supplied these contact details follow the instructions below to register for a School Gateway account, manage your child's catering account online and make other online payments including school trips.

1. Go to www.schoolgateway.com or download the app, if you have a smartphone, please download School Gateway from your app store (Android and iPhone). The app shows the same information as the website PLUS you can send app messages to the school for FREE – this will also save the school money when we send text messages

2. When you visit the School Gateway website for the first time, please select ‘New User’ and enter your email address and mobile telephone number you have registered with the school

3. The system will send a PIN code to your phone; please enter this PIN code and your account will be activated for you.

If you have not supplied us with an email address or a mobile phone number please email these details stating your child's name, child's tutor and year group and your contact details to communication@barnwell.herts.sch.uk or complete the slip below and return to the reception on either Middle or Upper School. Once we have added your contact details you will be able to register on School Gateway.
